The report we will discuss is a concise 2-page business overview with the first page focussed on key ‘Lag’ data, detailing performance over the last 24 months and the second page analysing the key trends that will impact performance in the future along with other key performance information.
Page 1 is a lag measure because it has already happened. Most accountants provide this information when they prepare your year end accounts. It’s not that useful as we’re looking at history which we can’t do anything about. It would be more useful to look at your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to help improve future results which is what page 2 provides.
